Effect of consumption of vegetables and fruit on nitric oxide levels and T-glutathione levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients

Glutathione is an antioxidant that plays a role in preventing free radicals and reducing oxidative stress, including patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DMT2). One of the factors affect glutathione status individual's ability to produce diabetic patients, T-glutathione levels have decreased. This study aims determine effect fruit vegetable consumption habits on plasma T-Glutathione. research method analytic observational cross sectional findings, sample used 85 subjects form archives biological materials. Data consuming vegetables fruits were collected through interviews, T-GSH determined biochemically using Elabscience GSH Assay Kit then analyzed Mann Whitney test. The results showed average habit those who did not, 13.54 ± 3.34 mol/L 12.73 1.44 mol/L, respectively, but not found significant difference relationship (p = 0.222). provides information does provide T2DM patients. But these still need be done for health maintenance. Further needed more specific amount certain consumed how cook them.
